01
What to have ready before a trulend request
Have your income details, a US bank account in your name, a working phone and email, and a clear amount in mind. Gathering these first turns a five-minute trulend form into one you finish without stopping.
| Item | Why it is asked | When you need it |
|---|---|---|
| Government-issued photo ID | Lenders confirm your identity and age (18+, or 19+ in some states) | Usually after an offer, during the lender's review |
| Social Security number | Lets a lender check your credit file | On the form or the lender's page, depending on the lender |
| Monthly income and source | Shows you can afford a payment | On the request form |
| Recent pay stubs or benefit letter | Some lenders verify income before funding | Only if a lender asks |
| Checking account and routing number | Where approved funds are deposited | On the form or during signing |
| Exact amount you need | Avoids borrowing, and paying interest on, money you do not use | Before you start |
If your income varies, such as gig work or tips, use a conservative monthly average from the last three months. Overstating income can lead to a personal loan offer you struggle to repay, and lenders may verify it anyway. Trulend borrowers who receive Social Security, disability or pension income can list it; many lenders accept it as long as it is regular.

Step by step: how the request form works
A trulend personal loan request has four parts: choose an amount and purpose, enter contact and income details, review and submit, then compare any offers that come back. Each step is short, and you can stop before submitting.
Step one sets the size of the trulend request. A $1,200 brake and rotor job does not need a $3,000 personal loan, and asking for the smaller amount keeps the payment down. At a 24% sample APR, $1,000 over 12 months runs about $94.56 a month, while $2,000 over the same 12 months runs about $189.12. Step two collects the details lenders need to decide; step three is a final check of typos in your email, phone or bank numbers, which are the most common reason a trulending request stalls.
Step four happens on the lender's side. If a lender in our network can help, you see its own personal loan offer with the APR, any origination fee, the term and the monthly payment. You can accept, ignore it, or close the page and think it over. Estimated trulend rates depend on the lender and range from 6.99% to 35.99% APR, with terms usually from 6 to 36 months.
03
What happens after you submit a personal loan request
After you submit, we pass your trulend details to lenders in our network. A lender that can help usually responds within minutes on business days; if none can, you will be told so, and nothing further is owed.
- Matching: lenders review the personal loan request against their own criteria, such as credit, income and state rules.
- Offer: a lender that can help shows its terms, sometimes on its own website, where you may finish the application.
- Verification: the lender may ask for pay stubs, a bank statement or ID before final approval, and may run a hard credit inquiry once you choose to proceed.
- Signing: you review and e-sign the lender's agreement, which lists APR, fees, the payment schedule and total repaid.
- Funding: deposits can arrive as soon as the next business day after approval, depending on the lender and your bank.
Trulending timelines vary. A request sent at 10 a.m. on a Tuesday with income that verifies cleanly can fund Wednesday. One sent Friday evening, or one where the lender needs extra documents, may take until the middle of the following week. Personal loans for debt consolidation that pay creditors directly can take longer than a deposit to your own account.

What a trulend offer might cost
Using our form is free; the cost of any trulend offer depends on the lender. As an illustration, $2,000 over 12 months at 24% APR is $189.12 a month and $2,269.44 in total, including $269.44 in interest, with no origination fee assumed.
Credit plays the biggest role in personal loan pricing. Estimated ranges run about 7.99%–15.99% APR for excellent credit, 13.99%–21.99% for good, 19.99%–29.99% for fair and 27.99%–35.99% below 630. Some lenders also charge an origination fee of 0% to 10%, often deducted from the amount you receive, so a $2,000 personal loan with a 5% fee deposits $1,900. Trulends visitors can test their own amount in the personal loan calculator before submitting, and review the rates guide for how lenders set prices.
05
Staying safe when you request personal loans online
We never ask trulend borrowers for an upfront payment, your online banking password or a gift card. Legitimate lenders show APR and total cost before you sign, and any fee is listed in the agreement, not collected separately in advance.
- Your personal loan details travel over an encrypted connection and are shared with lenders only to look for an offer.
- No one from our service will call asking for your bank login, a one-time passcode or a payment to release funds.
- If a caller claims a fee is required before a loan is deposited, hang up; that is a common scam pattern.
- Read the lender's name on the personal loan agreement and confirm it is licensed in your state before you e-sign.
- Decline optional add-ons you did not ask for, such as credit insurance, if they appear in the paperwork.
Trulends visitors sometimes ask whether submitting the form hurts their credit. Sending the request itself does not commit you to anything; lenders that check credit may use a soft inquiry to prequalify, and a hard inquiry generally comes only when you choose to move forward with a specific lender's application.

Common questions about the trulend request form
Most trulend questions are about obligation, credit impact, approval odds and what to do after a decline. Short answers: there is no obligation, the request alone is not a hard pull, approval is not promised, and a decline is not final.
| Question | Short answer |
|---|---|
| Do I have to accept an offer? | No. You can review and walk away at no cost. |
| Can I request less than $500? | No. The form covers personal loans from $500 to $5,000. |
| Will every request get an offer? | No. Lenders decide based on their own criteria. |
| Can I use the money for anything? | Most common uses are repairs, vet bills, childcare costs and consolidating card balances; lenders may restrict some uses. |
| Who sets my APR? | The lender, never our service. |
If no lender can help this time, wait 30 to 60 days, pay down a card balance or fix any errors on your credit report, then try again. A smaller personal loan or a co-borrower at a lender that allows one can also change the outcome. Check the eligibility guide for the basics lenders look for, and send a trulend request again once something has changed. Trulending through one form simply saves you from repeating the same details at several lenders.
