03

What we cannot help with

We are a connector, not a lender, so we cannot approve or decline a loan, change a lender's decision or terms, or access your loan account. Those questions belong with the lender.

If you already accepted an offer, the lender that funded it handles everything about the loan itself: your balance, payment dates, payoff amount, autopay setup, hardship options and any late fees. Look for the lender's name and customer service number in your loan agreement or welcome email. If a lender declined your request, the lender is generally required to tell you the main reasons or how to request them; we cannot see or override that decision. You are always free to submit a new request later if your situation changes.

Making a privacy request

To ask what personal information we hold about you, request a copy, correct it or ask us to delete it, email [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy request."

We will confirm your identity before acting, usually by matching the name, email and phone number on your original request. Some information may need to be kept to meet legal or record-keeping duties, and we will tell you if that applies. Information already shared with a lender is held by that lender under its own privacy policy, so you may need to contact the lender as well. Our privacy policy explains your choices in full.

06

Protect yourself from loan scams

We will never ask you to pay a fee, buy a gift card, send cryptocurrency or wire money to get a loan offer. Anyone asking for upfront payment in our name is not us.

Scammers sometimes pose as loan-matching services or lenders. Warning signs include:

  • A caller promising approval before any lender has reviewed your information.
  • A request for an "insurance" or "processing" fee before funds are released.
  • Pressure to act within minutes or lose the offer.
  • Emails from addresses that do not end in @trulends.com claiming to be from us.

If something feels wrong, stop, do not send money, and call us at (888) 291-9226 to confirm. You can also report suspected fraud to the Federal Trade Commission.
